Downtown Davis has many cheap, local restaurants within easy walking distance of campus. The entire city is 10 miles square, and very flat (the elevation change from one end to the other is literally only a foot). Most establishments are located in the downtown area east of campus, and are easily discoverable. Other than google, davisdowntown.com, and Davis Wiki have a lot of info on local establishments. Below are a few places to know about:
Yolo Berry Yogurt
316 C Street
239 G Street
Good coffee. Crowded, like all Davis coffee shops.
De Vere's Irish Pub
217 E Street
Nice pub relatively free of undergraduates.
Delta of Venus
122 B St.
A.K.A. "Delta." Very close to campus. Great place to get breakfast, coffee, tea, or beer and light fare later in the day.
Taqueria El Burrito
223 F Street
For real California greasy Mexican food, you should go to Woodland or Dixon, but this is the best in Davis.
Sam's Mediterranean Cuisine
301 B St
Good food and nice people close to campus.
234 E Street
Indian and Nepalese.
616 3rd Street
Sandwiches and nice outdoor seating.
Davis Food Coop
620 G St,
